Overview

The incumbent in this position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day processing of payroll as well as completing general ledger account analyses and assist with financial month end closing responsibilities.  

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Rockford their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
  • Responsible for the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of all payrolls and company’s accounts payable.
  • Reviews or directs the review of the accuracy of team member records in order to ensure proper recording and reporting of payroll information.
  • Verifies or directs the verification of new or changed pay rates and payroll deductions.
  • Directs computation of pay according to the company policy and federal/state regulations; Preparation of year end W2’s and Miscellaneous 1099.
  • Interprets company policies and government regulations affecting payroll and accounts payable procedures.
  • Prepares or causes to be prepared government reports and all reports are timely filed.
  • Ensures all payroll taxes and 401k wires are timely paid.
  • Verifies coding on invoices and produces month end report and reconciliation; Ensures all invoices are process in accordance with company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Attend and participate in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned                       
  • Perform work regularly and predictably.

 

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNTIONS

  • Attend seminars when needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

 

  • This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through an Associate’s Degree in Business or Accounting and one years’ related experience; or through the completion of a high school degree and three years’ related experience. Two years’ experience with automated payroll/accounts payable system along with one year supervisory experience.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc):

 

  • Must obtain and maintain valid licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Prior experience opening new properties/outlets strongly preferred.

 

KNOWLEDGE OF:

 

  • Understanding of income-control functions.
  • Excellent communication skills, and commitment to outstanding service.
  • Regulatory requirements helpful.
  • Microsoft Word, Basic/Intermediate Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strict confidentiality.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.

 

ABILITY TO:

 

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Use a computer, keyboard, and 10-key calculator.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Sit and perform data entry for extended periods of time.
  • Perform mathematical calculations.
  • Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
